The Charlotte Gator Club will once again be volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina as part of International Gator Day on May 20th. The Charlotte Gator Club will join Gator Clubs across the globe on this day where we will have the opportunity to give back to our local communities where we live and work. For those of you that might be unfamiliar with Second Harvest, this organization donates food and non-food items to 650 agencies in the 19 county metro region that in turn provides these items to those in need. On May 20th, we will be sorting food items and/or non-food items. It all depends on what has been donated from area merchants at that time we are volunteering. Second Harvest is located at 500-B Spratt Street near Uptown. We will plan to arrive at 12:45 to get signed in and after some brief training we will begin our sorting efforts. We will be done by 3:00. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes. This is for safety reasons. You will not be able to participate if you don’t. We have to cap our number of volunteers at 15 due to space limitations at Second Harvest so please register with the club today to ensure you are not left out.
