Portland Information

Fun Facts

Florida averages more inches of rainfall than Oregon. The difference is a quick thunderstorm in Florida can dump inches, while it takes days to accumulate fine, misty rain in Portland. Summers are dry and beautiful. The rest of the year is wet and gray. Snowfall is rare in the city but easily accessible at nearby Mt. Hood.

Oregon is famous for its Pinot Noir wine and its many microbrews. Oregon is also home to the Hood to Coast Relay, the largest running relay in the world. A total of 1,000 teams made up of 12 runners each run the 197 miles from Mt Hood to Seaside, Oregon on the coast.
