Christian George, BA ’04, JD ’07, is a nationally recognized business litigator and the managing partner of Akerman’s Jacksonville office. He also serves on the firm’s national board of directors. Christian leads complex commercial, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation matters for financial institutions, businesses, and investors across the country. He devotes his practice to protecting the rights of Fortune 500 companies and small businesses, shareholders, equity investors, members and partners in professional corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, individuals, and families in all areas of commercial, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation.
Deeply committed to leadership and service, Christian is the youngest recipient of Jacksonville’s “Lawyer of the Year” honor. He is active in both local and state bar associations and is a recent past president of the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar, an organization with more than 25,000 members. He is also a past president of the Jacksonville Bar Association Board of Governors and a former president of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
Christian frequently speaks to law students and bar and community groups on legal issues, including professionalism, the business of law, mentorship, mental health and wellness, work-life balance, the independence of the judiciary, and litigation and trial strategy. He has also been involved with numerous charitable groups and community organizations.
Christian is a past recipient of the University of Florida’s 40 Gators Under 40 Award and serves as a Trustee Emeritus on the Fredric G. Levin College of Law’s Board of Trustees. Christian, his wife, Whitney, and their son, Parker, live in Jacksonville and regularly attend Gator sporting events. He is proud to give back to his alma mater through service on the University of Florida Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Christian is serving a one-year term as a Presidential Appointee; his term expires 6/30/2027.
