Jess Joaquin Johnson (BSBA ‘04, BSJ ‘04, MSRE ‘06) gratefully attributes the University of Florida with his happy marriage, his career, and lifelong leadership opportunities. Jess comes from a proud family of Florida Gators, including his parents, his brother, his wife, and extended family spanning three generations. A North Florida native, he lives in Tampa with his wife, Katie (B.A.E. 2004, M. Ed. 2005), and their children, future Gators Jake (13) and Elizabeth (11).

Jess is a commercial real estate advisor and technologist who has led business development, strategic consulting, and real estate brokerage teams at advisory businesses ranging from boutique to global over the last 15 years. In addition to his service at UF, Jess is a member of Leadership Florida, serves as chairman of the board at St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School in Tampa, and is active in the ministries of his church, Hyde Park United Methodist. Jess was a founding board member of two public charter high schools in Tampa serving at-risk youth.

While a student at UF, Jess served as Student Senate President and was an involved member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Florida Blue Key, the J. Wayne Reitz Scholars, The Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathon, and the RecSports board of directors, among other areas of service. He was honored to be named UF Outstanding Young Alumnus (now 40 Gators Under 40) in 2012. He has served on the on UFAA Board of Directors since 2014.
