
Kristin M. Carter

Kristin Carter, BSJ ’93, is an Assistant County Attorney with the Office of the Broward County Attorney. She is the primary attorney for ethics matters and also works on Sunshine Law, legislative, and appellate matters. Before becoming an attorney, Kristin worked on political campaigns and as staff to elected officials at the state and local level.
Kristin lives in Fort Lauderdale, and is the rescue mom of Wally, an American Bulldog mix. In January 2020, she achieved a long-time goal of appearing on the television game show, Jeopardy! She contributes to the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship Program and has volunteered with South Florida charities that offer free legal assistance to residents applying for U.S. citizenship.
While at UF, she was active in Sigma Kappa and Florida Blue Key and served as General Chairman of Homecoming in 1995. She earned a master’s degree from The George Washington University and a Juris Doctorate from Florida International University. Kristin has served on the UFAA Board of Directors since 2018; her current term expires on 6/30/2025
