International Gator Day 2015 Recap

Less than two weeks after nine members participated in the St Jude’s Music City Marathon as volunteers and runners, the Music City Gator Club got together at the Nashville Ronald McDonald House to support International Gator Day.  The Music City Gator Club’s participation in International Gator Day took place in three forms. First, three days before International Gator Day, seven members got together and bought and prepared a meal for the many families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.  Then, on International Gator Day, 27 members got together and did a thorough “Spring Cleaning” of the facility. In addition, almost $300 worth food and other kitchen items were donated by members to the Ronald McDonald House.  One gallon of recyclable pull tabs were also donated.

The Nashville Ronald McDonald House is a 32 room facility and is almost totally supported from local contributions.  In 2014, it served as a home away from home, to 574 families, averaging an 18 night stay.

Music City Gator Club received a letter of gratitude and appreciation from the House Manager.
