Scholarships

To date, the UF-AHA has contributed more than $335,000 to the University, including more than $145,000 in direct scholarships, more than $110,000 toward an endowment that will provide scholarship funds in perpetuity, and $38,000 toward the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars program.

UF-AHA Academic Endowment
In 2007, the UF-AHA established an academic endowment with the University of Florida Foundation as a means of guaranteeing a perpetual source of scholarship funds for future Gators. The original pledge of $100,000 was fully funded by 2013; however, we continue to make contributions in an effort to further increase the principal balance.

Rafael and Fe Angulo Scholarships
The Rafael & Fe Angulo Awards are merit-based scholarships given to recognize UF students who have excelled in leadership, service and/or academic scholarship and who have made a positive impact on the Hispanic-Latino community.

Colonel Glenn A. Farris Scholarships
The Colonel Glenn A. Farris Award is a need and merit-based scholarship given to recognize UF students who demonstrate financial need, have excelled in leadership, service, and/or academic scholarship, and have made a positive impact on the Hispanic-Latino community.

The Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars
The Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program is an initiative to ensure first-generation students from low-income families have the resources they need to be academically and personally successful as undergraduate students at the University of Florida.

Additional proceeds also benefit programs that enrich the lives of Hispanic-Latino students through Hispanic-Latino Affairs, which oversees the Institute of Hispanic-Latino cultures, also known as "La Casita" and the Hispanic-Latino Engagement Center, also known as "La Salita."
