Ultimate Tailgate Winner

During the month of October, the UF Alumni Association held its first ever Facebook giveaway, providing a one-of-a-kind tailgate experience at Emerson Alumni Hall for an upcoming home game. Over 586 UFAA members registered to win.

The winner was Sarah Corbett, a 2003 graduate of the University of Florida and a UFAA Life Member.

Sarah and five guests including friends and family had their own, private tailgate for the Florida vs. South Carolina home game on Nov. 12, 2016. Included in the prize was food from 4Rivers Smokehouse, as well as all the necessary Gator items for a perfect tailgate including chairs, pop-up tent, party platters, tailgate games and more.

And what’s the best part of this ultimate tailgate giveaway? The prize allowed Sarah to take all the tailgate items home with her.

Sarah, a Lakeland, Florida resident, started at UF in 2000 and graduated with her J.D. in 2003. She is currently the staff attorney for Florida's Second District Court of Appeal, working for Judge Samuel Salario, Jr., also a Gator alum.

Her experience at the University of Florida and Gator Football games are some things she’ll never forget.

“The first trip into ‘The Swamp’ on game day is an unforgettable experience,” said Sarah. “Our long-standing traditions like singing We Are the Boys are timeless. They are something that link every Gator who bleeds blue and orange.”

The Facebook giveaway that Sarah won was only open to Alumni Association members – just another reason why a membership with the UFAA is so valuable. But, as Sarah notes, the connections you make as part of an alumni association is priceless.

“The best thing about being an alumna is the network of Gators I encounter everywhere I go,” said Sarah. “I received a great education, I made the best of friends, and I meet the most interesting people thanks to Gator Nation.”
