Grateful Gator Day

Each Grateful Gator Day, students, faculty and staff pause to celebrate the philanthropic generosity of those who donate to the University of Florida. Gifts from alumni, parents and friends support everything from scholarships to student-focused programs to groundbreaking research and more — all areas of excellence that set UF apart. Event activities highlight the importance and impact of private support and provide students the opportunity to personally thank UF donors.

The Impact of Philanthropy

  • Gifts from the Gator Nation ensure students have access to spaces that foster collaboration, facilitate research and prepare future leaders.
  • Private donations fund programs that help Gators thrive, like the Alan and Cathy Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry, which distributed more than 285,600 pounds of food last year.
  • Gifts of all sizes make UF stronger. Last year, gifts under $25 accounted for over $600,000 in support for UF students, faculty and programs.
