Florida Cicerones

Meet the Florida Cicerones

The Florida Cicerones were founded in 1968 as the University's first permanent student hosts corps. Sponsored by the Alumni Association, students served as guides and hostesses, promoting the university.  The Florida Cicerones got their name from the Greek word Cicero meaning "someone who guides or serves as a hostess."

Today this student organization is comprised of a diverse group of over 240 students, from various parts of the UF community. They still serve as UF's official student ambassadors and represent the university at many different functions throughout the year.
