Halima Attah
BSJ '26 | Fort Lauderdale, FL
Role: Florida Cicerones President
Halima Attah begins her fourth year at the University of Florida as a journalism student pursuing a minor in African studies. A Florida native, she was born and raised alongside her three sisters near Fort Lauderdale, where her parents settled after emigrating from Ghana and England. Whether through hosting her own social justice-focused podcast or being an editor for her high school’s newspaper, Halima quickly immersed herself in the worlds of communication and inclusive leadership — passions that have guided her experience at UF.
Halima joined the Florida Cicerones as a first-year student and has since grown both in and outside of the organization. She’s served as a UF Preview Staffer, a reporter for the Alligator and WUFT News, an African Student Union director, and currently serves as a Journalism and Communications Ambassador (JCA). Within the Florida Cicerones, she served as the sole committee chair of the Chronicle, an internal newsletter, and a member of the Presidential Hosting and Gator Nation Tailgates committees. Most recently, she served as the 2024–2025 Florida Cicerones Communications Vice President, overseeing five teams and working with 11 committee chairs.
Halima is deeply humbled to continue her executive board journey in the organization as its 2025–2026 president. She is committed to upholding her values of service, passion, and professionalism as she supports the organization, the UFAA, and the university as a whole.
As President of the Florida Cicerones, Halima serves as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors; her term expires on 6/30/2026.
