Alex Hurd, BA '01, is a purpose-driven healthcare and digital platform executive with a global track record of building and scaling businesses that create both commercial value and societal impact. His career has spanned North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with leadership roles across healthcare, retail, technology, and international development. He currently serves in a senior leadership role with TELUS Health, one of North America's leading healthcare technology companies. Prior to joining TELUS Health, Alex served as Vice President of Health Services for Walmart Canada, where he led a business encompassing retail pharmacy, clinics, vision centers, and consumer health services. During his decade with Walmart, he held several global leadership positions, including COO of ClarusONE, a pharmaceutical sourcing joint venture between Walmart and McKesson, and Head of Strategy and Business Development for Walmart Health & Wellness in the United States. Earlier in his career, Alex worked with Deutsche Bank and led healthcare and renewable energy initiatives for the Clinton Foundation. A Fulbright Scholar, Alex is committed to leadership and service. He previously served as President of the Florida Cicerones Alumni Association and currently serves on the University of Florida Alumni Association Board of Directors. Fluent in five languages, Alex resides in Toronto with his family. He is serving his second term on the UFAA Board of Directors and his term expires on 6/30/2027.
