Cierra Ward serves as – Cierra Ward serves as District Manager for Resource Management Service, LLC, (RMS) one of the world’s largest forest investment management organizations with more than 2.2 million acres worth more than $4.4* billion under management. Promoting forestry as a profession and the sustainable management of working forests are personal and professional priorities for Cierra. Cierra currently manages our working forests in the North Carolina region where she employs advanced forestry and land management practices to optimize their biological, societal and financial potential for our investors.
Cierra was appointed to the North Carolina Board of Registration for Foresters by Governor Roy Cooper and currently serves as chair. In 2020, she was elected to lead the Association of Southern Boards of Registration for Foresters and in 2019 was named a Forest Resources Association Emerging Leader. Cierra is a Natural Resources Leadership Institute Fellow, serves on the Board of Directors of the NC Forestry Association, and is Communications Chair for the NC Sustainable Forestry Initiative Implementation Committee.
Promoting forestry as a profession and the sustainable management of working forests are priorities for Cierra. She is an 18-year member of the Society of American Foresters and serves on the Wayne Community College Forestry Education Advisory Board. She leads numerous forestry educational outreach initiatives for young school children, high-schoolers, college students, and educators. A certified NC ProLogger, Cierra also holds a commercial pesticide applicators license.
Cierra earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in forestry from the University of Florida. She resides in Jacksonville, North Carolina with her husband Seth, and their two daughters.
