Dr. Cobran is as Senior Associate Consultant and Career Scientist in the Department of Quantitative Health Sciences within the Division of Epidemiology at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Cobran earned his B.S. in Health Science from the University of Florida College Health and Human Performance in 2006. He was a scholar in the University Scholars Program and the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program at the University of Florida. He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science from Howard University College of Pharmacy, in 2012, with a research concentration in Pharmaceutical Health Service Research, Pharmacoepidemiology, and Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy. He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cancer Health Disparities at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. In 2014, Dr. Cobran joined the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy at the University of Georgia, College of Pharmacy. As an Assistant Professor, Dr. Cobran cultivated a national research agenda focused on prostate cancer health disparities. He has secured external grant funding totaling $1,485,078.00 as a Principal Investigator. His research has been funded by the National Cancer Institute, National Center for Advancing Translational Science, and the American Cancer Society. Dr. Cobran has been selected as a Lilly Teaching Fellow, Harvard Medical School Research Methods in Supportive Oncology Scholar awarded by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care and an inaugural recipient of the Jonice A. Louden Young Investigator Award. Dr. Cobran is dedicated to addressing and eliminating disparities in prostate cancer.
