An expert pharmacist, Maryam plays critical roles in our nation’s health system, both in the FDA’s oversight of cancer drugs and treatments and for the U.S. Public Health Service.
As the regulatory health project manager for FDA’s Office of Hematology and Oncology Products, Maryam has received an achievement medal for her extensive work in expediting access to medications for emergency oncology cases and for supporting oncology drug approval. She earned a commendation for serving vulnerable Native American populations in remote Arizona and Alaska.
Maryam is also a lieutenant in the U.S. Public Health Service, which deploys her to protect our nation’s health during natural disasters, acts of bioterrorism and public health emergencies. Her U.S. Army specialized training focuses on medical management of casualties of biological and chemical warfare.
On top of her commitments to her country, Maryam has a personal commitment to her profession. She is the founder of RxPharmacist, which provides the latest test-prep guides to help pharmacists and pharmacy students pass their board licensure exams.
Maryam holds a doctorate in pharmacy, cum laude (2015), from the University of Florida, and is an Asthma-Educator-Certified professional and a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist. She is currently working toward dual master’s degrees in business administration and entrepreneurship and innovation at Indiana University and was selected as a 2019-2020 Excellence in Government Fellow for her strong leadership and distinction in the federal government.
