Elyse Cohen brought her career to new heights as the first-ever deputy director for Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative, a public health campaign dedicated to addressing childhood obesity. As the strategic advisor for the campaign, she developed and implemented priorities aimed to inspire children to be active and eat healthier.

Before her debut at the White House, Cohen received her master’s in public health, communication and marketing from George Washington University and spent almost a decade developing social marketing and health communications campaigns focused on food, nutrition and social impact.

Cohen is now senior director of the Health and Wellness Programs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Corporate Citizenship Center and executive director of the chamber’s Health Means Business campaign. She also serves on the advisory board of the community hunger and homelessness advocate DC Central Kitchen and the advisory council of the Jewish Food Experience.
