Kristy Pressly, BA ’91, JD ’94, is Vice President - General Counsel & Risk Management of The Breakers Palm Beach, Inc., one of the longest continuously operating businesses in the state of Florida and one of Palm Beach County’s largest employers with over 2,300 employees. Along with being recognized as a AAA Five Diamond oceanfront resort, The Breakers was recently named one of Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to work for in the United States. In her role, Kristy oversees management of The Breakers’ litigation and represented claims, administrative proceedings, worker’s compensation, risk management, human resources consulting and training, compliance, contract review and negotiation and general problem-solving and dispute avoidance.
Prior to working for The Breakers, Kristy worked for the law firms of Gunster, Yoakley and Stewart, P.A. and Page, Mrachek, Fitzgerald & Rose, P.A., where she was a commercial litigator, specializing in employment law. Kristy used her litigation experience to provide consulting and training to many of Palm Beach County’s largest employers, including The Breakers.
Kristy has served on the boards of the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County (2005-2010), Palm Beach Cancer Institute Foundation (2010), Susan G. Komen South Florida (2010 - 2013), and the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce (2010 -2013). Kristy currently serves on the Board of Vita Nova, Inc. and is Chair of its Nominating & Governance Committee (2019 to present). Kristy is a member of the Florida Bar, Palm Beach County Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, Palm Beach County Historical Society, YMCA and Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. She was also recently appointed to the UF Foundation National Board for FY2023-24.
Kristy received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Florida, both with honors. While at UF, she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Kristy also served as Senior Student Works Editor for the University of Florida Law Review.
Kristy is married to fellow Gator, Grier Pressly, and has one daughter, Parker. She served as a Presidential Appointees in 2023-24; this is her first term as an elected director and her term expires 6/30/2026.
