Director, Sub Same Day Operations

Samantha Hockenberry lives in Phoenix, Arizona and is currently the Director of Sub-Same Day Network for Amazon. In this role, she leads 17,000 Amazon Associates and 430 Operations Managers throughout North America. The operation network delivers 400 million same day units across 30+ buildings in North America. Alongside her operational leadership, Sam has been a highly visible leader incorporating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as a way of doing business and engraining this into the culture of Operations and Amazon overall.

In 2017, Samantha took on the audacious initiative of launching a new Amazon initiative called Central Operations which took a different approach to scaling and driving automation in some of the most complex rudimentary spaces in Grocery Delivery. She designed a business what fostered a positive Associate Culture and drove operational excellence across the globe impacting over 600 last mile delivery locations. Having driven success in Orlando, she moved to Phoenix as a Senior Operations Manager to consolidate Central Operations into a single location. Samantha further elevated this business model to adopt large-scale incident response during the COVID-19 pandemic which was instrumental to Groceries success in 2020.

During her time at the University of Florida, Samantha graduated with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida. She was incredibly involved in her time as an undergraduate. Samantha was Gator Growl Executive Producer, President of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, a Student Government Senator, and a member of UF’s 2013 Hall of Fame class.
In her spare time, Sam is either rooting on the Florida Gators, skiing in the Rockies, going on an adventure with her dog Brodie or traveling near and far to immerse herself in various cultures.
