While attending law school at the Levin College of Law, Alex served as Gubernatorial Fellow under Governor Rick Scott, where he won the Jeb Bush Public Policy Award for his work on improving Florida's involvement with charitable organizations and non-profits.  After law school, Alex joined the law firm of Moore Hill Westmoreland where he focuses on civil litigation, real property and commercial litigation. In 2017, Alex was appointed by Governor Scott to serve on the 1st Judicial Nominating Commission, where he still serves today after being reappointed by Governor Ron DeSantis. In 2018, Alex was elected to serve as the Florida House District 2 state representative in the Florida House, where he still currently serves. During his fourth year in the Florida House, he served as the Education Committee Whip, where he helped lead many initiatives in education important to both the House and the Governor. In his spare time, among other notable community-focused activities, he has served as the policy chair for the local Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, since 2014 has been a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters to his Little Brother, Louis, and is a founder and board member of Onbikes Pensacola, Inc., a local charity founded to buy and build bikes to underprivileged children in the Northwest Florida area. He is married to his wife of ten years, Jessica (Clements) Andrade, also a double Gator, and is excited to welcome their first child, Gillian, in February 2023.
