Stephen English is a Physician Assistant at the Moffitt Health Center at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in Hattiesburg, MS. He also serves as the current Mississippi Academy of Physician Assistant (MAPA) President. He has served in this role for 9 years now where he is responsible for the health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff on campus. In addition to caring for his patients, Stephen enjoys lecturing in health sciences and serving as a preceptor for physician assistant students. His role as MAPA president allows him to interact with physicians and other medical providers in the state to help promote the PA profession. 
He received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 2007 at the University of Florida. He was active in FCA and Young Life while he was an undergrad. He also spent his freshman year as a walk-on football player for the Gators. 
Upon graduation from UF, Stephen worked for 3 years at Desire Street Ministries under the direction of former Gators Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel. After a brief stint coaching high school football, he then moved to Clinton, MS to attend PA school. He earned his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies in 2013 from Mississippi College. He is happily married to his wife, Lauren, and the couple has two children. Together, they enjoy being outside, traveling, watching Gator sporting events, and being involved in their church.
