Afsheen Misaghi is an acclaimed film and stage performer, a two-time Tony Award® producer, and a versatile creative and educator known for his significant contributions to the entertainment industry.
Afsheen has excelled both in front of and behind the spotlight, showcasing his acting talent on popular TV shows such as "Succession," "Blue Bloods," "The Blacklist," and "Power Book II: Ghost." He has also performed at numerous regional theaters, including Mosaic Theater Company, Barrington Stage Company, Stageworks Theatre, and American Stage Theatre Company.
His theater career also includes two Tony Award® nominations for producing "New York, New York" and "The Piano Lesson." Currently, he is producing the Broadway revival of "The Wiz" and an undisclosed Broadway musical set for Spring 2025. Afsheen has also contributed to the casting departments of various Broadway productions and international tours, including "Hadestown," "Chicago," and "Paradise Square."
Afsheen served as a Fulbright Scholar in 2019-2020, teaching at Yildirim Beyazit University. His passion for teaching extended to art and technology courses, and he has served as a visiting professor at institutions such as La Salle University. He is also an Implicit Bias Trainer, guiding businesses and individuals through issues like unconscious bias, microaggressions, privilege, and intersectionality.
In 2021, Afsheen conceptualized, directed, and acted in "Normal for Now," an anthology series that earned acclaim from Oscar-nominated and Pulitzer Prize-winning artists, premiering on Amazon Prime. Additionally, his comedy special, "Yeah, I'm FROM From There," delves into the intersections of race, belonging, and comedy, premiering at The 8th Annual NYC SOLOCOM. Afsheen was selected to be part of the 2022 ViacomCBS Showcase, where his talents were featured in award-winning sketches.
Afsheen is a proud 2019 graduate of the University of Florida's Master of Fine Arts in Theatre - Acting program.
