Brian has dedicated his life to improving the quality of life in the communities he has served. He is an attorney and shareholder of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen. A proud Triple Gator, he graduated from UF in 2005 with degrees in Political Science and Telecommunication and earned his J.D. in 2008. He received the C. Arthur Sandeen Improving the Quality of Life Award. He was appointed to the Board of Supervisors of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District which provides governmental services to the 40 square miles of the Walt Disney World Resort. He played a crucial role in finalizing a Collective Bargaining Agreement with IAFF Chapter 2117. He was re-appointed to the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County on which he has served since 2012 in various roles including Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary.
He is a strategic advisor to the Philadelphia Phillies for a catalytic $500M redevelopment of its Spring Training home and surrounding commercial properties in Clearwater. He obtained approval of over 500 much needed affordable housing units in St. Petersburg. He has represented small businesses fighting government red tape, large employers creating new jobs, citizens fighting to save their homes, and victims of domestic violence. He has obtained approval for more than a dozen hotels, the new Clearwater Marine Aquarium facility, redevelopment of Ruth Eckerd Hall, and the development of parking garages, condos, and affordable housing developments. He has used his knowledge of the law to make affordable housing more available throughout the State. He met hiswife Cary (M.D. '10) while at UF. They are raising our daughter Brynn and son Bruce, in Clearwater, along with our Golden Retriever Diamond, and are grateful for the quality of life and opportunities we enjoy because of our great UF educations.
