Steven served in various capacities within the General Counsel’s office and was recognized recently by the Florida Government Bar Association as the 2018 Government Attorney of the Year.

Outside of work, he volunteers with the Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership organization where he recently finished two terms on the organization’s board, including two years as board chair. HOBY honored him with its 2011 Volunteer of the Year award. Additionally, Steven is president of the Alpha Gamma Rho, Alpha Gamma Chapter Education Foundation, which provides scholarships for excellence in academic and on-campus achievement to collegiate members of UF’s Alpha Gamma Rho social and professional fraternity.

Steven is a sixth-generation Florida farmer and continues to take an active role in the farm’s operation. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UF, master’s from Samford University and law degree from Cumberland School of Law.
