While earning his doctorate in mechanical engineering at UF, Tim became interested in 3D printing and created his own filament extruder called the Filastruder. He launched a successful Kickstarter drive and built a company to develop his technology. Tim expanded its applications to make, for example, prosthetics for amputees and stethoscopes for doctors in the Gaza Strip. His academic research resulted in novel polymers and applications.
Now in Atlanta, Tim continues to develop and sell the Filastruder and other 3D printing products. He earned his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees from UF.
